Communicating the Value of Ergonomics to Business Stakeholders
Speaker: Blake McGowan, CPE, Solution Executive, VelocityEHS
Ergonomics aligns the workplace with people’s capabilities, yielding improved employee well-being and enhanced business performance. Our Ergonomics Assessment is Done. Now What?
Speaker: Josiah Allen, CPE, CSP, Senior Solution Consultant, VelocityEHS
Organizations may conduct numerous musculoskeletal disorder risk assessments and gather extensive data, but without a system to translate that information into actionable workplace improvements, it remains a collection of numbers. The ultimate goal of ergonomics programs is to minimize employee injuries and enhance overall well-being and performance. Completing MSD risk assessments is just an initial step; the crucial follow-up involves utilizing the data to drive outcomes. Successful teams possess an ergonomics management system, serving as the foundation for the job improvement cycle and providing answers to the question “Now What?” This session equipped participants with the ability to identify underlying causes of MSD risk, understand the job improvement process, apply the hierarchy of controls for ergonomics improvements, recognize benefits of a formal control validation process, and comprehend ways to standardize validated controls.
